Celebrate National Library Week: April 7 – 13, 2019

by | Apr 2, 2019

Join the Washoe County Library System as they celebrate National Library Week (April 7- 13, 2019). The theme for 2019 National Library Week is “Libraries = Strong Communities.”  National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support.
The Washoe County Library System wants to remind everyone that libraries help to build strong communities through transformative services, programs and expertise. Libraries, like the Washoe County Library System,  promote the free exchange of information and ideas for all, and are the cornerstones of democracy.  The Library System and staff look beyond traditional roles and provide transformative opportunities for education, employment, entrepreneurship, empowerment and engagement, as well as new services that connect closely with patrons’ needs.
The Washoe County Library System would like to encourage all residents to visit a library this week and explore what’s new at your library!
