2018 Primary Election Sample Ballots on their way to mailboxes

by | May 11, 2018

Reno, Nev. May 11, 2018. The Washoe County Registrar of Voters Office would like the community to keep watch for the Official Sample Ballot coming to mailboxes the week of May 14, in preparation for the coming Primary Election on June 12, 2018.
What is a Sample Ballot? A Sample Ballot is a document sent to registered voters to help them prepare for an election with valuable information, including polling places, hours, questions, offices and candidates that will appear on your ballot, and what the actual ballot will look like.
Does it matter if I have updated my address? Yes. Your Sample Ballot is based on where you live, as it will only display the candidates you are eligible to vote for based on your address, including which polling place is in your precinct.
Washoe County has over 80 different sample ballots going out to homes next week that are in both English and Spanish.
“Sample Ballots are an important resource for voters,” explains Deanna Spikula, Washoe County Registrar of Voters. “We are pleased these will be in the hands of voters soon and we urge the community to watch for it in the mail and to review the information so they are prepared heading into the polls.”
Deadlines to register to vote are coming soon, if you would like to register to vote, click here.
