Reno, Nevada. Sept. 17, 2015. Once a year, kids of all ages get a chance to operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, graders, backhoes, loaders, and dump trucks in the name of fighting cancer when the American Cancer Society presents Reno’s Big Dig.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Roads Division of the County’s Community Services Department are looking forward to participating in this year’s event scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at Rilite Aggregate on Western Skies Dr. south of Reno off of State Route 341 (Geiger Grade).
More than 600 big and little construction wannabe’s are expected to attend this unique fundraiser. In addition to driving the “big truck,” participants may explore static exhibits from sponsoring agencies including the Nevada Highway Patrol, Washoe County Roads Division and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office RAVEN, Search & Rescue and SWAT programs.
