Reno, Nevada. Feb. 3, 2016. Washoe County Manager John Slaughter has appointed Mojra Hauenstein to the newly-created Washoe County Business Facilitator position.
Among other duties, Hauenstein will be the point of contact for new development in Washoe County and responsible for streamlining and assisting with the permit process.
“With the anticipated growth of business in Washoe County, new business owners need help with the permitting process and other business-related needs that come with starting or relocating a business,” Slaughter said. “Mojra brings experience to this much-needed position and will be a great resource for businesses.”
Hauenstein brings unique talents and experience to the Washoe County Business Facilitator position. As an entrepreneur herself who started her own architectural business in 2006, she knows what it takes to own a successful business and navigate the permit process.
Hauenstein understands sustainability and is one of 433 people in the world who holds the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Neighborhood Development accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council. She is also a nationally-registered architect with National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
She became the Community and Economic Development Director in Fernley in 2012 prior to becoming the Business Facilitator for Washoe County.
