July is Parks and Recreation Month

Reno, Nevada. July 17, 2015. The National Recreation and Parks Association designated July as Parks and Recreation Month to recognize the importance of our nation’s park system.
From concerts to art exhibits and fun activities for the family, parks throughout Washoe County are hosting plenty of great events during the sizzling summer month of July. Washoe County manages more than 12,000 acres, including more than 10,000 acres of open space, 49 parks, an Arboretum, developed trails, trailheads, athletic fields, golf courses, a campground, a shooting facility, an archery facility, a museum, and so much more! If you have a favorite outdoor activity, chances are it can be done in a Washoe County Park! 
Washoe County Parks and Open Space encourages all Washoe County residents to spend quality time outdoors with family and friends and enjoy this beautiful region we call home.
